6. Lay the child on the rear seat
of the vehicle, placing the child in
the center of the seat, away from the
doors (or walls) of the vehicle.
a. Using the
existing seat belts,
place one seat belt through the chest
strap of the vest and secure the seat
belt.
b.
Thread the other seat belt
through the lower hip strap of the
vest and secure the belt.
c.
Secure both seat belts as tightly
as possible.
7. The extremity belt provided
with the E-Z-ON 101M2 Modified
Vest should be used as follows
:
a. If one leg is casted, be sure that
the cast is against the seat back.
Place the extremity belt around the
leg with the cast at the knee area,
and secure with the same seat belt
as the hip strap of the vest.
b. If
both legs are casted, place the
extremity belt around both casts at
the knee area, and secure with the
same seat belt as the hip strap of the
vest.
c. If
neither leg is casted, place
the extremity belt around both legs
at the knee area and secure with the
same seat belt as the hip strap of the
vest.
8. The Modified E-Z-ON Vest can
be secured using lap type seat belts
or shoulder/lap belts. If shoulder/
lap belts are used, you mayuse a
locking clip to lock the lap-portion
of the belt.
9. Protect the Head and Neck!
a. Place pillows behind the child's
head & neck area for comfort and
protection in case of a crash.
b. If the child needs to ride on their
side, secure the vest the same way,
but place a pillow behind the child's
head for comfort and support.
